WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HOOP DANCE CONTEST
Date: March 26, 2022 – March 27, 2022
Place: Downtown Phoenix
Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Price: Adults, $18 (two-day pass $30); Seniors (65+), $13.50; American Indians, $12; Heard Museum members, $12; ages 4-12, $7.50; ages 3 and younger, free
Top American Indian and Canadian First Nations hoop dancers will compete at the Heard Museum for the prestigious World Champion title and cash prizes. At this two-day competition, men and women compete on an equal field.
The art of hoop dance honors the cultural traditions from multiple Indigenous communities that first employed hoop dance as a healing ceremony. Today, hoop dance is shared as an artistic expression to celebrate and honor Indigenous traditions throughout the U.S. and Canada.??Dancers are judged on a slate of five skills: precision, timing/rhythm, showmanship, creativity, and speed. Contestants compete in one of five divisions: Tiny Tots, age 5 and younger; Youth, 6-12; Teen, 13-17; Adult, 18-39; and Senior, 40 and older.
Please note: This is an outdoor event, rain or shine. Lawn seating only. We recommend bringing folding chairs or blankets. Outside food and beverages (excluding water bottles) may not be brought into this event.
THE FRIENDS EXPERIENCE

The Friends Experience comes to Phoenix!
Fans of the New York-based hit television show “Friends” now have the chance to immerse themselves in some of its famous scenes right here in Phoenix. The “Friends” Experience invites you to Immerse yourself in the world of Friends like never before — explore 12 recreated rooms, including Joey and Chandler’s apartment, Monica and Rachel’s kitchen and Central Perk (you’ll even get to poke Ugly Naked Guy) — with interactive set recreations, original props and costumes, photo ops, a retail store.
Now that’s what I call kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic!

17TH ANNUAL ARIZONA DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Place: Tempe

Originating in Southern China over 2,000 years ago, the sport of dragon boat racing has captivated audiences for ages. On March 26 and 27, 2022, see the tradition come to life again at our very own Tempe Town Lake! The 17th Annual Arizona Dragon Boat Festival returns after a two year hiatus to thrill crowds with the excitement and competition of water based sports. Watch over 60 teams from across the United States and Canada compete head to head in a race for the gold. Cheer on local Arizona teams and show support for our diverse community of athletes including youth, military veterans, para athletes, and cancer survivors. Between races enjoy food trucks and a vendor square. Come to our free, family-friendly festival!
SPRING BREAK FIREWORKS SHOW!

Enjoy a brilliant 15-minute fireworks show from Reserved Fire Pits, Reserved Patio Seating, the Oasis Water Park, or from the patio of your guaranteed view suite, available exclusively to resort guests.
