ROCK ‘N’ ROLL ARIZONA MARATHON AND 1/2 MARATHON

Kick off the New Year in the Valley of the Sun with a flat and fast race that takes you through the best of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe! You’ll run through the red rocks of Papago, past murals from local artists, and down urban streets of three major cities. As one of the first race weekends of the year, this is the perfect opportunity to set goals, try a new distance, or test out your current fitness levels!
CHIHULY IN THE DESERT

Dale Chihuly returns to the Sonoran Desert with a stunning new exhibition at two of Arizona’s most iconic venues, Desert Botanical Garden and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.
Combining art, architecture and nature, Chihuly in the Desert is set against majestic saguaros, the striking Papago buttes and a World Heritage site. Chihuly’s masterpieces stun from day to night as color, light, and form come alive for the first time ever at two locations for a joint exhibition. Chihuly in the Desert showcases Dale Chihuly’s stunning, large-scale installations nestled among the Garden’s world-class collection of desert plants. Featuring installations on the Garden’s trails complemented by a major indoor gallery in Dorrance Hall, the dynamic exhibition includes never-before-seen installations and is a must-see throughout the seasons.
CONSERVATION EXPO

This family-friendly festival will feature live animals including penguins, sloth, falcons, reptiles, and wild horses. Other highlights include pet adoptions, sustainable food sampling, hands-on activities, and 40+ organizations who are making a difference. Free Outdoor Event. No admission required.
BEETHOVEN AND RACHMANINOFF: GENIUS MEETS PASSION
Date: January 14, 2022 – January 16, 2022
Place: The Phoenix Symphony

Composer, virtuoso pianist and conductor Sergei Rachmaninoff meets the giant Ludwig van Beethoven in this program of compositional titans. Rachmaninoff’s symphonic arrangement of his lyrical masterpiece song Vocalise opens the program, followed by Beethoven’s first symphony, with its musical echoes of his teachers Haydn and Mozart. This rich program rounds out with one of the most technically challenging concertos ever written, performed by Grammy-nominated virtuoso pianist Joyce Yang.
