SECOND ANNUAL BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION

Grassrootz Bookstore and Juice Bar, located in Eastlake Park District, is Arizona’s only black-owned, activist-owned, worker-owned bookstore. Join them this weekend in celebrating Black Excellence as they showcase local vendors, artist, musicians, poets and activists/speakers at the second annual Black History Event.

Tim Allen, star of the hit sitcom “Last Man Standing” on FOX network and before that the long running TV comedy “Home Improvement,” voice of space ranger Buzz Lightyear in the smash hit “Toy Story” movies, bestselling author of Don’t Stand Too Close to a Naked Man and I’m Not Really Here, and holiday icon for his “Santa Clause” films, performs a night of stand up comedy at ASU Gammage.
SCOTTSDALE ARABIAN HORSE SHOW

The largest event of its kind in the world, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is held at WestWorld and attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators. In addition to exciting competitions, gala parties, educational seminars, family-focused events, and an international cuisine court, the event features more than 300 vendor booths, offering everything from lavish jewelry, clothing and works of art.
Free activities that cater to the entire family include ‘Meet an Arabian Horse’, ice cream socials, Paint-A-Pony ceramic horse painting, art contests, behind-the-scenes barn tours, educational round pen demonstrations and much more. Additional activities for a nominal fee will include pony-rides, petting zoo entry and camel rides.
SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN

It’s 1927, Hollywood’s Golden Age, and Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are the toast of Tinseltown – until “talkies” come on the scene. Join the Phoenix Theater Company as they make a big splash with this spectacular and romantic musical comedy, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. There will be wonderful singin’ and dancin’ and, yes, it really will rain onstage!
